It really doesn’t matter where you are, because Foretrex 301 can tell you in an instant. Your device traces your path, shown as a dotted trail on the screen. Simply turn on Foretrex’s TracBack feature and follow the path back to where you began. You can also save 500 locations as waypoints, allowing you to mark all the important areas you need to remember. You’ll never lose your campsite or your car. And the Foretrex 301 has up to 18 hours of battery life and replaceable AAA batteries. So you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy nature.
The data you need and want
You can combine multiple waypoints to create and store routes to your favorite spots in your Foretrex 301. You’ll also get loads of helpful information for your outing, including a trip computer, sunrise/sunset times, and hunting and fishing information. When you need to document your trip, just use a USB to link your Foretrex 301 to your PC or Mac and store your waypoints, routes and tracks on your computer.
Connect with Garmin Connect
After exploring, you may want to store and examine your adventure. All you need is a computer and the internet, and you can use Garmin Connect to store detailed analysis of your outing and send tracks to your outdoor device. Garmin Connect is a one-stop site that gives you an activity table and lets you view your adventure on a Google Earth map. You can also see uploaded routes from more than 12 million users, and use Twitter and Facebook to share your experience.
Take control of your trips
With Basecamp software, you can control your next outdoor experience by viewing and organizing your maps, waypoints and routes, and sending them to your Foretrex 301. Basecamp is free, and brings 2-D or 3-D topographic map data to your computer screen with contour lines and elevation profiles. When you pair basecamp with BirdsEye Satellite Imagery, you can transfer unlimited satellite images. You can also geotag photos and associate them with your specific experience.
