Features

The Edge 500 is the perfect tool to sharpen your cycling performance. This lightweight
GPS-based cycling computer was made for performance-driven cyclists. You’ll be in the
know as the Edge 500 tracks all kinds of data, including your distance, speed,
location and elevation, all with a high-sensitivity GPS. If you add an ANT+ compatible
heart rate monitor, speed/cadence sensor or compatible power meter, you’ll perfectly
fine tune your ride analysis.

Easy and accurate

You can attach your Edge 500 to your bike stem or handlebars by using its simple,
low-profile bike mount. Once you acquire GPS satellites, your Edge 500 can quickly
calculate your position with its high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix satellite
prediction.

The data you want and need

Your Edge 500 will blow you away with its data. It measures your distance, time,
speed, calories burned, altitude and climb and descent, so you can always review your
ride. Plus, its barometric altimeter pinpoints changes in elevation.
All Edge models work with third-party ANT+-enabled power meters to show your power
output wattage as you ride. This shows you how hard you’re riding, regardless of
conditions. Some Edge models come with a digital heart rate monitor and speed/cadence
sensor.
The Edge 500 also brings you Course, a feature that helps you compare your rides over
the same route. You also get Auto Pause, Auto Lap and temperature readings. The Edge
500 also alerts you if you’re moving but your timer isn’t.

Monitor your heart

When you pair the Edge 500 with a Garmin heart rate monitor, you can track your heart
beats per minute and use your heart rate for advanced calorie computation to know how
many calories you’re burning.

Analyze the data

Once you finish your ride, just connect your Edge 500 and your computer with the
included USB cable. Then analyze your performance. And, with Garmin Connect – a
one-stop shop for data analysis and sharing – you’ll join a worldwide network of
cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts all over the world.
