Want to know where your dog is? Well, the Astro 320 dog tracking system will tell you, pinpointing your dog’s location and shows you on a vivid full-color screen. It doesn’t matter if you can’t see or hear your dog, you’ll know its exact location on your Astro 320. Hunters, you have Garmin’s ear. That’s why the Astro 320 has so many features you’ve been asking for, including increased range and battery life, a more durable antenna, a simplified user interface and mapping capability.

Know your dog’s location
With the Astro system, you get the Astro 320 handheld and the DC 50 transmitter collar¹ with an orange polyurethane strap. Different color straps are also available. The DC 50 features top-mounted GPS and GLONASS receivers and a steel VHF antenna. When you switch to rescue mode, the refresh rate is reduced from 2.5 seconds to two minutes to preserve battery life and allow you more time to search for your lost dog. You can also use Collar Lock to create a 4-digit PIN number and stop others from viewing your dog’s location. Further, Bark Detection tells you when your dog is trying to get your attention, even when you can’t hear it. This is an important feature for treeing and running hounds that cover wide ground.

An improved Astro
Dog tracking takes a giant step forward with the intuitive Astro. New software for the Astro 320, which supports the DC 50, adds plenty of exciting features, including Bark Detection. Even if your dog is outside of the current zoom level, its location is displayed in the margin of the Astro 320. You can choose how much of each dog’s tracklog is displayed, or even turn it off completely to avoid screen clutter.

The Astro 320 is compatible with any Garmin DC series transmitter, and debuts brand new features such as enhanced drawing map capability, subscription-based BirdsEye Satellite Imagery compatibility, vibration-based alerts and a 3-axis electronic compass. Plus, your Astro 320 can stand up to the weather. Neither dust, nor dirt, humidity or water is any match for this perfect hunting companion.

An easy upgrade
Now, you can easily take care of your hunting needs. You can purchase the entire Astro bundle or as many DC 50 collars as you need. And your Astro 320 works with every DC series collar. But you should note that the DC 50 is the only collar with remote bark detection and the battery-preserving rescue mode. When you set updates for every 5 seconds, the battery lasts 26 hours. But in rescue mode, where your updates come every two minutes, your battery lasts up to 54 hours.

Get all the mapping you need
Astro 320’s microSD card slot lets you buy and load TOPO US 24K maps for land elevation contours or City Navigator NT map data. With your Astro 320, you can also use subscription-based BirdsEye Satellite Imagery, allowing you to download satellite images and integrate them with your maps. With all of this mapping technology, you’ll know immediately if your dog has crossed a creek or is nearing a dangerous road.

Astro 320 is also compatible with Garmin Custom Maps, the free software that allows you to download maps into your unit.

A powerful dog tracking tool
The DC 50 transmits your dog’s location as often as every 5 seconds, so you’ll always know where it is. The Dog Tracker page shows you a compass pointing to your dog’s location and its current status, whether running, standing, or treeing quarry.

The Astro 320’s map page also shows your dog’s precise distance, and you can auto zoom the map so you can see the location of all of your dogs at any time. If your dog is out of range, you’ll see it noted in the display margin. You can also choose how long the map displays each dog’s location, or turn it off completely for a less cluttered display.

The Astro 320 possesses a high-sensitivity GPS and GLONASS receiver mounted on the top of the dog collar. You can track up to 10 dogs at once from up to 9 miles away, depending on terrain.

Count your coveys
Use Astro’s Covey Counter to mark the spot you captured your game. Covey Counter tells you the exact location, time and elevation where you found your quarry, and tells you how many birds you flushed and took from that location. You can also use your Astro 320 to mark other special waypoints, such as Truck and Lodge. Astro gives you special waypoint icons to represent food plots, tree stands and other hunting-related points of interest.

Time to plan
BaseCamp gives you full control of your next outing. You can use the software to view and organize maps, waypoints, routes and tracks. And you can use BaseCamp to create Garmin Adventures to share with others. Basecamp features topographic map data in 2-D or 3-D, and includes contour lines and elevation profiles. When linked with your BirdsEye Satellite Imagery subscription, you can transfer unlimited satellite images to your Astro 320.

A base station for your dogs
With the all new BaseStation and the DC 50 collar units, you can use your BaseCamp-enabled laptop as a control center for tracking your dogs. You’ll use real-time GPS and GLONASS information to create an ideal tool for canine search and rescue teams.
