Your nüvi 40LM gives you a 4.3-inch (10.92 centimeter) touchscreen that bringsaccurate, turn-by-turn, directions with verbalized street names right to your
fingertips.
Always know the next turn
Your nüvi 40LM has an intuitive interface that is easy to use. Just touch the screen
to quickly find addresses and services and for voice-prompted turn-by-turn
navigation. The nüvi 40LM comes in two mapping versions and with preloaded maps for
the lower 49 states. It shows you the speed limit for most major roads, and the
“Where Am I?” emergency locator always tells you where you are. The nüvi 40LM is also
preloaded with 8 million points of interest. If that’s not enough, you can also add
your own.
You get free lifetime maps
Free lifetime map¹ updates means your nuvi 40LM always knows the best route and gives
you up-to-date points of interest. You can download map updates up to four times per
year with no subscription or update fees or expiration dates.
Get in the right lane, even if it’s the left lane
With nüvi 40LM, you don’t have to worry about figuring out the correct lane to exit
unfamiliar roads or interchanges. That’s because, in select metropolitan areas, lane
assist with junction view helps you choose the appropriate lane for turning or
exiting. As you approach an exit or interchange, nüvi 40 shows you road signs and
arrows indicating the lane you need to be in for your interchange.
